Methodology
How we build lists
Public sources, plain rules and honest gaps.
Where the information comes from
Public information may be collected from firm websites and other public sources, including regulatory filings, press coverage that names a firm, public professional profiles, and details people chose to share when registering for our events.

Entries can be incomplete
Family offices change staff, addresses and strategies, and many publish very little. Any entry can be incomplete or out of date. We review entries over time and when people report changes.
Blank fields mean unknown
A blank field, or “Not stated”, means we did not find a public source. We do not infer a value from a firm’s name, size, address or the industry a family made its money in.
What free list pages show
Free public lists can show firm name, city, state or country, type when stated, stated focus, and website. Entries are alphabetical.
Emails and phone numbers are masked
Contact fields are masked on every public page. They are handled through requests for the full list.
How tags are assigned
- Location: a publicly attributable headquarters or stated office. City pages use the city the firm names.
- Type: how the firm describes itself, for example single family office or multi-family office. Virtual family office only when the firm says so.
- Sector and strategy: only when the firm states that focus publicly.
- Check size: only when the firm or a primary public source states it.

Top and largest lists
We rank only when a defined public metric covers the offices on a page, and we name the metric and its source on that page. Most family offices do not publish assets under management, and there is no public, consistent count of family office deals. For now, every page with top or largest in its title is a browse page: entries are alphabetical and not ranked. Where offices disclose assets, the full list can group them into bands, which are a grouping and not a rank.
Report an error or request a correction
Use Support or call (808) 600-9260. Tell us the page, the firm and the change. We review every request.
Information only
List information is informational and not advice. It is not investment, legal or tax advice, and inclusion does not imply endorsement or that an office is open to any opportunity.
